Haircut

A Laurel Salon haircut is so much more than the haircut itself. A haircut begins by having a thorough consultation with your hairstylist. The consultation will help determine the look you are desiring, how that look will accentuate your best features, the level of maintenance required and the styling products you will need to achieve your new look on a daily basis. The consultation is followed by a relaxing scalp massage. Next, your hair will be cleansed with our paraben, sulfate and plastic free shampoos and conditioners while your scalp is massaged yet again, leaving you refreshed and renewed. Your hairstylist will trim your hair to the specifications discussed in your consultation, use styling products that meet the specific needs of your hair type and give you a blow out/style that shows off your beautiful new haircut!

Waxing

Laurel Salon makes even a waxing session a relaxing experience! A waxing session begins by having a thorough consultation with your esthetician. This consultation will help determine the look your are trying to achieve, additional areas that may need to be waxed and the level of maintenance required to keep up your new look. You will then lie on the warm, comfortable massage table so that the waxing may be performed. Your esthetician will meticulously work to remove all unwanted hairs while still being gentle with your skin, avoiding excess tugging and preventing as much skin irritation as possible. You will leave your waxing session looking and feeling beautiful!

Massage

A Laurel Salon Massage is truly a healing experience. A massage service will begin by having a thorough consultation with your massage therapist. The consultation will help determine, your areas of tension, results you are trying to achieve and type of massage you desire, i.e. deep tissue, relaxation massage, light massage, etc. Next, you will receive a warm foot bath, which cleanses the feet and relaxes the mind and body. After your foot bath, your massage therapist will leave the room while you remove your clothing and climb on to the heated, comfortable massage table, covering yourself with the warm bed sheet and cozy blankets. Your massage therapist will then return to the room and begin your massage service, working the full body and focusing on areas of tension that need to be released. The massage is completed by putting warm towels on the back, keeping the muscles warm and loosened. The massage therapist will then leave the room so that you can dress. The massage therapist will then greet you with a glass of water and discuss the massage service and after care suggestions.

Reflexology Pedicure

The Reflexology Pedicure is truly a healing experience! Relaxation begins with a warm and cleansing foot bath, followed by nail and cuticle care. A foot file is then used on the plantar side of each foot to remove dead skin cells and smooth rough areas, followed by a sugar scrub exfoliation. Now that the skin is nice and smooth, feet are moisturized with a rich hydrating masque and wrapped in warm towels to ensure hydration reaches the deep layers of the skin. A therapeutic and relaxing reflexology session is performed on both feet, thus releasing built up toxins, stress and tension. A lacquer application to the nails completes this service.

Signature Manicure

This manicure wins the popularity contest! All the same steps as the Reflexology Manicure, minus the reflexology session and the paraffin application. A relaxing hand and arm massage is performed to calm and rejuvenate the mind and body.

Sole Pedicure

Everything you could want from a pedicure! All the same steps as the Reflexology Pedicure, minus the reflexology session. A Lengthy leg and foot massage is performed to relax and rejuvenate the mind and body.

Pedicure Express

Pedi on the run! Cleansing foot bath, nail and cuticle care, sugar scrub exfoliation, light massage and lacquer application.

What is Reflexology?

Awareness of reflexology has increased significantly over the last few years. The name is familiar; most people mentally associating it with body and energy work, but too few are aware of its origin, practice and benefits.

Reflexology is nothing new. It actually dates back to 2330 B.C. Egyptian hieroglyphics indicate that this practice was used as a healing mechanism. One hieroglyphic translation reads “Please don’t hurt me.” and the practitioner replies , “I shall act so you praise me.”

Reflexology is the science that rests on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands that correspond with every part of the human body.Reflexology is performed by using a thumb compression technique in which pressure is applied to the reflexes of the feet. The reflexes are strategically worked to release trapped congestion (uric acid, calcium deposits and other toxins) from the reflexes and the 7,200 nerve endings. Most people find a reflexology session to be very relaxing; enjoying the deep tissue work and the “good hurt” associated with working tender reflexes.

Reflexology offers many health benefits. It increases energy and blood flow throughout the body, thus improving blood circulation and nerve and blood supply. By opening up the blood and energy pathways, the functions of the body can then be balanced and normalized. On an emotional level, reflexology reduces stress and helps balance the emotions that rest in every part of our biological makeup.

The reflexes are strategically worked to release trapped congestion (Uric Acid, calcium deposits and other toxins) from the reflexes and the 7200 nerve endings in the feet Toxins then enter back into the blood stream and are naturally excreted through elimination. Reflexology helps to normalize and balance the functions of the body. It increases nerve and blood supply, increases energy and blood circulation and relieves stress.
